Mobile’s downtown parks are a link to our past—and our future. The Downtown Parks Conservancy is a newly formed nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving these links by maintaining and maximizing the beauty and utility of our downtown parks.
We believe everyone should have the opportunity to connect with beauty and history. Our purpose is to restore, manage and enhance our historic downtown parks and to improve the quality of open space for everyone in the Greater Mobile area.
To increase the quality, awareness, appreciation and appropriate usage of downtown Mobile’s parks and green spaces.
Through sustained leadership and strategic investments, the conservancy will help position the Downtown Mobile Parks System to be usable and enjoyable.
Working in partnership with area organizations and local government, we strive to generate awareness and secure needed funding to ensure that we not only protect our parks’ natural environment and historic character, but enhance conditions for their enjoyment of our citizens.
Our work depends on the expertise, guidance, and generosity of many dedicated volunteers. The Downtown Parks Conservancy is composed of individuals from diverse segments of the Mobile area community who have a passion for enhancing Mobile’s history and beauty, and who understand the impact this can have on our city’s quality of life and future prosperity.
